Syon Mukherjee
founder
Syon Mukherjee is a Houston-based student leader focused on building quantum literacy and preparing the next generation for emerging technologies. He is the founder of the Houston Quantum Literacy Initiative and creator of Quantum Pop, a youth-focused platform that makes complex ideas like qubits, superposition, and quantum computing more accessible to younger audiences. A student at Carnegie Vanguard High School in Houston, Syon combines strong academics with leadership in debate, athletics, and community service. He is also the founder and president of Grow Together, Carnegie’s largest student-led community service initiative, leading more than 45 students in tutoring and food sustainability programs supporting underserved communities. His experience brings valuable global and interdisciplinary perspective to the Houston Quantum Literacy Initiative’s mission of making quantum technologies more accessible and understandable for students.

Vinod Valloppillil is a veteran technology strategist known for his work in software systems, open-source innovation, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and emerging technologies. Vinod is best known for authoring Microsoft’s influential “Halloween Documents,” internal memos that analyzed the rise and long-term impact of Linux and open-source software on the technology industry. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania and has held leadership and advisory roles across major technology companies and emerging technology startups. As an advisor to the Houston Quantum Literacy Initiative, Vinod helps connect quantum education with the broader technological changes shaping the future economy and digital world.
